I'm starting to wonder whether I should go Warrior/Monk or Warrior/Elementalist.
Actually Warrior/Necro doesn't seem bad either. I just don't know if I want to heal/throw fire/or be vampiric. This is gonna be a tough one. I'm going to test Warrior/Elem in the Beta i think.

Well, it depends really:
You want W/N if
a. you're not going to use its death magic, too much energy...
b. you want mediocre healing with damage dealing
c. if you like cursing people out... so to speak...
W/M if
a. you want to be the last man standing to res your party.
b. like people yelling at you for not being able to heal them at times
c. awesome healing with high damage prevention/absorbtion
W/E when
a. you want to deal damage, a LOT of damage
b. you want to learn the REAL meaning of energy management
c. the healer in your party is good enough to literally bet your life on.
I've read up on these builds and all of them are quite good. Good strengths offset by balanced weaknesses. But hey, that's why we love dis game!

That's me. I got Yelled at a few times, but mostly I was the Anti-Caster Tank. I did bring along my Rez. for the Healers if I couldn't get back to them in time , so it wasn't all that bad

So far my main character "The Saint" is a War/Necro and it has been working out well... and if you like to start fights or tank big ugly beasts then warrior for your prim. Prof. is a good idea...

Monk, because I was coerced into it last BWE. Once you take the step, there's no turning back.

Primary professions thread merged
Hello everyone,
I've merged the two threads on primary professions. I've also reopened the poll on this thread indefinitely. Please do NOT make such an obvious repeat of the same thread in the future, especially since the last post in the original thread was only three days before this one. If you feel this strongly about wanting to vote in a poll that has already been closed, please send a PM to either me, or any of the other moderators, and we'll definitely consider reopening the poll.
Also, please remember the search button. It's a very good friend to have.
Thank you.
And back on topic..
As for me, I'm usually primary monk.. although strangely, with the abundance of monks in my guild lately, I might be expanding my areas a bit.

I'm planning on making a N/Mo minionator for my first build. I've found that minionators can be excellent for farming in PvE, and I'd like to get a nice selection of equipment and runes before starting PvP. I'll get the monk skills I want for my healer via that character, and hopefully some nice runes and such. Once I get a good start, I'll probably start out a PvE healer as well, with the intention of using that character in PvP once I finish leveling and getting gear.
It's always fun to run around with 20 minions swarming your targets too, so I intend to have fun with that first character as well. I'll probably put some effort into exploring the entire world and completing all the quests with that character, and actually pay attention to the lore and cinematics for my first run through the storyline. I've got a good idea how the story goes, but I've purposefully not payed too much attention to the plotline, especially the loremasters so that I won't spoil the story come release. After a week or two, I'll probably look at starting to do some serious PvP along with my PvE.

I voted monk. I have two professions in mind actually and I'm leaning more towards the monk right now. The other is the necromancer. Well, I'll really decide when I enter the character creation screen.

Warrior. Warrior/Monk for PVE because they can breeze thru the PVE. Since PvE is required to get to the areas where the skill trainers are. I want to use the Profession that will get me there the easiest and fastest so I can unlock the skills to create my PvP character. I also don't want to be stuck using that Warrior henchman; for the times that I can't get a group. That Henchman is just like the ranger pets; they are both suicidal and will get you killed real fast.

Every character is good at PvE in some way, the challenge is to find a character that strives in both...perhaps a Warrior/Monk? But I'm becoming a Necro/War so I guess I wont be striving in PvP

I'm going to play a Ra/El with focus on Air Magic. Basically, a sniper designed to take out W's and big critters(think Blind and Crippling Shot).
